Critical: Authorization Required
Unauthorized security testing of websites may be illegal and subject to criminal prosecution under laws including the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA), Computer Misuse Act, and similar legislation worldwide.
1. Authorization and Ownership
By using BattleTester to scan any website or web application, you represent and warrant that:
- You are the legal owner of the target website or web application, OR
- You have obtained explicit written permission from the owner to perform security testing
- You have completed the ownership verification process (meta tag or file upload)
- You will not use this service to test any website without proper authorization
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to test any target. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BattleTester, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or legal actions arising from unauthorized testing.
2. Service Description
BattleTester is an automated security testing platform that performs penetration testing on web applications. The service includes:
- Automated vulnerability scanning for common web security issues
- Testing for OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities
- Authentication and authorization testing with user-provided credentials
- Generation of security reports with findings and recommendations
BattleTester is NOT a comprehensive security audit and should not be considered a substitute for professional security assessment by qualified security professionals.
3. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree NOT to use BattleTester for:
- Testing websites or applications without proper authorization
- Any malicious, illegal, or harmful purposes
- Testing government, military, or critical infrastructure systems without explicit permission
- Attempting to exploit or leverage discovered vulnerabilities for unauthorized access
- Sharing or distributing discovered vulnerabilities before the owner has been notified
- Overwhelming target systems (denial of service)
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access immediately if we suspect misuse. We may report suspected illegal activity to appropriate authorities.
4. No Warranty and Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
We specifically disclaim all warranties including but not limited to:
- Accuracy, completeness, or reliability of scan results
- Detection of all vulnerabilities (false negatives may occur)
- Correctness of reported vulnerabilities (false positives may occur)
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Security of data transmitted through the service
IN NO EVENT SHALL BATTLETESTER BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES INCLUDING:
- Damage to target systems, data loss, or downtime caused by scanning
- Security breaches resulting from undiscovered vulnerabilities
- Actions taken based on scan results
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
5. Data Collection and Privacy

6. Service Limitations
- No Uptime Guarantee: The service may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues
- Rate Limits: We may impose limits on the number of scans, requests, or resources used
- Scan Scope: Testing is limited to web application vulnerabilities and does not cover infrastructure, network, or physical security
- Result Accuracy: Results may contain false positives or miss certain vulnerabilities
- No Guarantee: We do not guarantee detection of all security issues
7. Account Suspension and Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to BattleTester at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including:
- Violation of these Terms of Service
- Suspected unauthorized or malicious use
- Abusive behavior or excessive resource usage
- Legal or regulatory requirements
8. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. Material changes will be communicated via the platform.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of jurisdiction.
10. Third-Party Open Source Tools
BattleTester's backend scanning engine incorporates the following open-source tools. Each is used in accordance with its respective license. We do not claim ownership of these tools and all credit belongs to their respective authors and maintainers.
- sqlmap - Automatic SQL injection and database takeover tool. github.com/sqlmapproject/sqlmap. Licensed under the GNU General Public License v2 (GPL-2.0).
- Interactsh - Out-of-band interaction detection server by ProjectDiscovery. github.com/projectdiscovery/interactsh. Licensed under the MIT License.
- ffuf - Fast web fuzzer for content discovery and parameter fuzzing. github.com/ffuf/ffuf. Licensed under the MIT License.
Use of these tools through BattleTester does not grant you any additional rights over them beyond what is provided by their respective licenses. Scan results generated with these tools are subject to the same Terms of Service and limitations described in this document.
By using BattleTester, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
